Who Was Prophet Idris (A.S.)?

According to early Islamic historical reports, Prophet Idris (A.S.) was among the descendants of Prophet Adam (A.S.). Some historians identify him with the figure known as Enoch. However, this identification comes from historical traditions rather than explicit Qur'anic evidence.
